Restructuring CML’s China business to better execute the marketing of its products and services in China
Cambridge Mechatronics Limited (CML) is a multidisciplinary engineering company that leverages smart materials to design and develop miniature motors, also known as actuators, for use across a variety of applications. CML has established relationships with major global corporations across international supply chains.
In 2019, with its business continuing expanding in China, CML intended to restructure its Chinese business to better execute marketing and customer care in China.
CML requested the support from Crayfish.io to help with setting up in different locations in Greater China, and then enter into employment contracts with local staff and provide work permits to UK employees on secondment.
Crayfish.io helped CML with the complete process of setting up entities in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Taipei, and provided advice on corporate structuring, the transferring of employee contracts, the preparation of employment contracts and handbook, the notarization and translation services, and through Crayfish’s local service network arranged ongoing financial management services for CML entities in all three different locations.
Despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic and lockdown, Crayfish and its local service teams did not stop all the way through the process, and managed to successfully set up CML’s local entities in all three locations within 2020.
