Crayfish.io is launching a series of practical online sessions which are designed to help you deal with exactly these situations and guide you through all essential areas of setting up and running your own businesses successfully. Powered by experience and knowledge from successful entrepreneurs and business experts, the Crayfish.io Startup Programme delivers to you:
- Peer learning all practical essentials of starting a business at a pace of your own choice
- Networking opportunities and a broad entrepreneurial support circle
- Introduction to potential investors
Our programmes are delivered in bitesize sessions allowing flexibility in choices of subject areas of interest, if you are interested in learning about the startup journey but not ready for a structured course yet.
For those more advanced entrepreneurs we have 1-2-1 coaching available for bouncing ideas and discussing challenges of running a business with our mentors who are industry experts with bi-cultural background.
You do not need to have already a business plan, but you do need to be entrepreneurial in your heart! Ideally you also need to have a “China angle”: whether you are a Chinese national studying or living in the UK, or wishing to set up a business with Chinese market in mind, or seeking a strategic Chinese partner.

Ting Zhang has 25+ years experience of UK – China business, trade and investment. She has advised hi-tech SMEs, FTSE100 corporates, UK universities as well as government agencies, VC Funds in Europe, and financial institutions in Wall Street. She has also been engaged by Chinese tech companies to help expand into the UK / Europe. In 2017, Ting launched Crayfish.io, the first online platform dedicated to enabling better engagement with China, and in September 2019 she went on to launch Crayfish Accelerator, a fully funded programme helping ambitious UK tech startups to get China-ready.

Terry has over 30 years of experience in finance and capital market specialising in IPO, fund raising, investor relations, corporate restructuring and strategy advisory. He also possessed world class professional experience through his managerial role with Ernst & Young Hong Kong after he gained his qualification as a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales in London. In particular, Terry was the director and CFO of a listed company in the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange for over 10 years. During that period, Terry has won over 100 awards for the listed company and personal awards which includes: Best Listed Company Executive Director, Best CFO, Best Investor Relations, Best Corporate Governance Listed Company, Best Value for Shareholders and Best Listed Company Annual Report. Terry has extensive network resources in the PRC and Hong Kong SAR and now acting as Corporate Strategy Advisor for various companies.
Jian Cao, Partner, UK China Enterprise Fund; Founder, RTC Innovation
Dr Jian Cao is a Partner at the UK China Enterprise Fund and a Director of RTC Innovation. He has Led £25million of venture capital investments in the past 5 years and invested in and incubated tens of high-tech companies in the UK. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and MSc Computing from University of Birmingham.
Linda Jiang, Co-Founder Nodes & links
Linda Jiang is a strategy, business development and product management expert. She has a proven track record in building developer ecosystems and data driven products to international market. Linda co-founded UMENG, the largest mobile big data and advertising platform in China (acquired by Alibaba). She previously worked for Samsung Mobile UK and CGI Europe. She is bilingual in English and Chinese and is a specialist in China business expansion.
Yinan Zhu, portfolio General Counsel for tech start-ups, business angel
Yinan is a dual qualified Chinese and English lawyer who was trained at King & Wood Mallesons in Shanghai and focused on FDI in the first couple of years of her career. She then studied in the UK and spent 10 years at UK no.1 firm Clifford Chance advising international businesses and many Chinese companies in Europe on finance, capital markets and corporate matters. Yinan was then co-General Counsel of Gingko Tree Investments (the Chinese government’s principal investing arm in Europe) for 4 and half years and Chief Legal Officer at DealGlobe, a FinTech focusing on tech enabled solutions for China cross-border investments. She now works as part time general counsel and strategy adviser for a portfolio of tech companies the highlight of which is Crayfish.io, a full service platform for better engagement with China using technology.
