Known as one of leading China business experts in the UK, Ting Zhang has 25+ years experience of UK – China international business, trade and investment.
After a successful career in international trade and JV in China, Ting first came to Cambridge to study. Then in 2001, foreseeing the increasing trade with China, Ting left her career as a banker in the City of London to set up China Business Solutions which then became a highly reputable China specialist consultancies in the UK. Her clients have included hi-tech SMEs, FTSE100 corporates, top UK universities as well as UK / European government agencies and financial institutions in the US.
In recent years, with Chinese businesses going global to follow the “Chinese Dream”, Ting had been engaged by some of China’s emerging technology companies to help expand into the European market through M&A and technology partnership. She was also a China Venture Partner for Prime Ventures, a leading European VC, focusing on opportunities presented by the rapid economic growth of China.
In her continuous pursuit for a more efficient and affordable way to facilitate global trade, Ting launched Crayfish.io in 2017, the go-to platform dedicated to enabling better engagement with China powered by technology.
Ting is an experienced public speaker on China and regularly writes on various aspects of doing business with China as well as Chinese investment into UK.
Director of Growth Operations
Jane has 18 years of experience in strategy, business development and international trade. Working closely with clients, she manages the growth operations including marketing, BD, product development at Crayfish.io to cater for client’s full cycle of doing business in China, delivering successful services through efficient use of resources available at Crayfish.io ecosystem.
Prior to joining Crayfish.io in 2019, Jane had worked in international companies, SMEs and start-ups in both China and the UK, which gave her hands-on knowledge of both the East and the Western markets. Having worked in some of the most rapidly changing industries such as education, publishing and international trade, Jane embraces technologies and she enjoys exploring their underlying strengths and applying emerging industrial trends into actionable plans.
Finance Director
Connie, a fellow of Chartered Accountant, has 15+ years’ experience in key finance management roles, mainly from FTSE 250 listed companies and large corporates.
After joining Anderson and qualified with Deloitte Audit Division., she spent 6 years in Internal audit and financial reporting with MedImmune Ltd (subsidiary of AstraZeneca) where she played a key role in swiftly transiting the Antibody Technology Plc into MedImmune Ltd. Connie later took on the role of Financial Controller with Cambridge University Press in Journals and Education divisions respectively, managing the day to day running of the finance function and set up many key business processes, policies and reporting modules, successfully acquired a group of Australia based publishing journals. The most recent corporate role she took on was with the Inca Digital Printers where she was a financial controller as well as a business partner, played a key role in the management team, engaging and providing solutions in shaping company-wide projects and operational modules.
Dr Jonathan Milner, co-founder and currently Deputy Chairman of Abcam plc, is an experienced entrepreneur and investor and is passionate about supporting UK healthcare and high-tech start-ups. He has provided considerable investment and support to over 30 companies and has assisted three technology companies to IPO on AIM. In 1998, he identified the market opportunity for supplying high-quality antibodies to support protein interaction studies and founded Abcam with David Cleevely and Professor Tony Kouzarides.
Jonathan is currently Chairman of Axol Bioscience, Cambridge Allergy Therapy Limited and PhoreMost Limited and a non-executive director of Horizon Discovery, Frontier Developments, Syndicate Room Limited and GeoSpock Limited. He also sits on the advisory boards of Desktop Genetics Ltd, Repositive Ltd, HealX Limited and Definigen Ltd. In addition, he co-founded the Milner Institute for Evolution at the University of Bath.
Dr David Cleevely is the Chair of Advisory Council, Centre for Science & Policy at the University of Cambridge. As a serial entrepreneur, he has invested in over 35 companies and is co-founder and Chairman of five of them, including the award-winning restaurant “Bocca di Lupo”. He is the Chairman of CRFS, which he co-founded in July 2007, and Chairman of the Raspberry Pi Foundation and the Cambridge Science Centre, as well as being an Ambassador of the Cambridge Humanitarian Centre.
He was the founder and former Chairman of telecoms consultancy Analysys (acquired by Datatec International in 2004). In1998, he co-founded the web based antibody company Abcam (ABC.L) with Jonathan Milner and was its Chairman until 2009.
He has been a prime mover behind Cambridge Network, co-founder of Cambridge Wireless, co-founder and Chairman of Cambridge Angels and is a member of the IET Communications Policy Panel. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the IET.
Peng Zhi has over 15 years’ experience in Chinese technology market investment, from start-up businesses to early stage grown. She worked for Microsoft R&D and gained investment experience with London based VCs and Angel technology funds.
She holds an MPhil Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management (ISMM) from the University of Cambridge.
Arriving in the UK almost 30 year ago, Laura has built her own successful business in the EFL industry and now runs the Cambridge Centre for Languages. She has also considerable experience and connections in China, Turkey, Spain and Italy through her work. Laura is keen to see Crayfish providing more real life work opportunities and educational benefits for young Chinese talent who have overcome many challenges to come study in the UK.

Terry has over 30 years of experience in finance and capital markets specialising in IPO, fundraising, investor relations, corporate restructuring and strategy advisory. His qualifications include a Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellowship of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and memberships of the England Institute of Directors and the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.
Terry has been a manager in Ernst & Young Hong Kong and as CFO in several major corporate groups leading to their successful IPO. In particular, Terry has successfully led the IPO of Xtep International Holdings Ltd* and was the director and CFO from 2007-2017. During that period, Terry led the group to win over 100 highest awards for the listed company and personal awards in capital markets which include: Best Listed Company Executive Director, Best CFO, Best Investor Relations, Best Listed Company Corporate Governance, Best Listed Company Investment Value and Best Listed Company Annual Report.
Terry founded Terrain International Ltd, leveraging his international capital markets and network resources to provide Corporate Strategy Advisory and Fundraising for UK and Asia companies.

Head of Communications
Sarah Wang joins Crayfish.io with expertise in content creation and communications honed over 20+ years of experience in media, both in East and West, from print, broadcasting to digital media.
She is tasked with driving our overall communications strategy, managing all aspects of multi-channel communications functions to ensure the core values of our brand are conveyed in impactful ways.
Prior to joining Crayfish.io Sarah had been working with national and international media outlets, including BBC and China Daily.
Client Service & Project Manager
Enyun is a professional with a rich and diverse background encompassing academic research, project management, and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding results.
She earned her PhD in Business Informatics, Systems, and Accounting from Henley Business School, University of Reading, equipping her with invaluable skills for analysing and meeting customer needs and driving business development.
Before joining Crayfish.io, Enyun has earned extensive work experience from her roles in educational institutions and international organizations. This experience has endowed her with skills in conducting comprehensive and insightful research across various sectors. These qualities position her as a dynamic professional in client service and project management.
MBA, Director of Business Services
Geyang Huang is a well-established professional with over 20 years of experience in promoting trade and investment between UK and China. She is responsible for business development and successful delivery of client services at Crayfish.
Prior to joining Crayfish, Geyang has worked for the UK national and regional government agencies, including UK Trade and Investment, East of England International and London & Partners, advising overseas companies on setting up and expanding their businesses in the UK.
Before moving to the UK, Geyang worked for a number of international blue chip companies including Sony, JP Morgan and Gallup in China.
Geyang has an MBA from Manchester Business School and a BA in English from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Yanhong studied at the Universities of St. Petersburg and Milan. Having worked in luxury online shopping, online travel, and the gaming industry. Yan enjoys tackling challenges and trying new things. Whether it’s managing projects or adapting to changes in the industry, Yan is always eager to learn and grow.
Senior Consultant Tech & IP commercialisation
Jeff is our IP and technology commercialisation expert based in China with over 25 years of China-West experience. Previously he founded his own company in the US, providing consulting and management services including international brand management, intellectual property internationalisation, and strategic operations in the Chinese market. He was instrumental in bringing some well-known US businesses into China.
Jeff holds a Ph.D. in computer science at Texas A&M University. An inventor holding more than 20 US patents, Jeff formerly served as a senior architect in the CTO office of Dell Corporation as well as the Vice President of IdeaAsset, a US intellectual property trading platform.
Michael has over 30 years of business management and investment experience. He was Chairman of Beijing Inno Town Commercial Operation Management. Before that, he was Vice President at the HK-listed Hanergy Holding Group with a market value of $40 billion, responsible for international investment, merger and acquisition, and product development. He has acquired diverse and rich experience in private equity, angel fund, and management consulting industries, both as an entrepreneur and business executive before joining Hanergy.
Michael holds two EMBAs, one from the University of Cambridge and one from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and an MSc in IT from the University of Nottingham.
